Task description: Today I had finished my koru art. Koru is a plant that is originated from New Zealand.

This is my koru art and had just finished it. Year 8 will be leaving Point England school and they will move into college. This art is for something like a wood plank or a giant paper. When year 8's leave Point England we leave things behind as memories. We had to choose 3 colors for our koru art we had to include black for my outline. I picked red , green and blue. Should kids get paid to go to school?

        Disagree!

1. Good morning room 3 Yes, here is a great speech. If you don't want to hear it 's too bad a boring speech to hear but it's good. I believe that kids should NOT go to school to get paid because we go to school to learn. Not to get paid. Just choose my opinion. I mean option.

2. It’s good not to get paid because kids will spend it at the shops to get junk instead of healthy food.

3. Money should not come to school because other kids will go through other people’s bags and steal them. That's why we don’t allow kids to bring money to school.

4. If kids get money from their parents. They should hand it back because if they keep on giving money to them then they will most likely be poor and they will regret it!

Topic: Kids should NOT Get money to go to school?

Those are my four reasons for why kids should not get money to bring to school. Money is not kinda for kids to handle but their parents trust them to take care of themselves. If they keep ending up with lollies then they will have rotten teeth. You will probably have false teeth. Do you really want that? Well of course not don't be a big sooky bubba. It will take time to restore. For example, You go to the shops and get 10 packets of lollies and 3 fizzy drinks. By the time you drink it your teeth are already black and rotten.

Same thing is people stealing. Stealing people’s money is not good because their parents give them that money for their lunch. Most kids' money gets stolen all around the world. Would you like it if someone stole your money? Well of course you won't like it because you're just gonna cry baby and everyone is gonna look at you like. Wow look at that kid he's 12 years old and still crying. I think it's good if someone stole your’s. I think it's a thing because you will learn your lesson.

Kids should never ever and I mean never get paid. In fact however because New Zealand will end up with the lowest money and the population will rise in New Zealand a lot of people will bring their kids to school and we will most likely catch viruses and nasty bugs. Donald Trump will be angry too because we will take all the Americans and his face will go red. I think we will just give him a lollies pop. 

Thank you so much for listening to my annoying speech. But listen if you were president or prime minister. Don't ever pay kids to go to school.

Being Respectful & Being Kind

 Title: Being Respectful & Being kind.

Good morning literacy class. I'm gonna be telling you why you should be kind and respectful. My speech is abouht being respectful. Respect is the same thing as being kind. People need to be respectful to other people so they can spread kindness.  Animals can show kindness as well but it's very hard to tell because we don’t know what mood the animals are in.  

Being respectful to elderly people is also important because old people are not that strong and are too weak to work. Kindness is like doing the dishes , vacuuming , dusting and gardening. People need to be careful of old people while in the road or crossing across the road.

Helping your parents and talking probably is being respectful. Changing baby’s nappies. Shower them and put clothes on them. Helping your parents cook the food and doing the drink’s is helpful. You also need to look after the babys and keep them warm and safe.

Being respectful in public is also important because you never know what they are going through when you make them happy it makes friendship. And then after friendship you get kindness. It's like a circle. It goes from being respectful to friendship to kindness; it just keeps going. Just like our own solar system it keeps going around and around for centuries. 

Speaking of the solar system we need to be respectful to the earth. And respect the things that mother nature has given us. We also need to respect wildlife. This includes insects like ants , spiders , fireflies and much more undiscovered creatures out there that lure in the dark and light.

Also out in space there is pollution in space. Did you guys even know that? 

The pollution is not rubbish, it's debris from satellites that collided with other satellites. So we need to do something about it and clean the debris that is respectful.

If we try to clean the debris then we might have to make a giant net and launch it into space to clean up the area so astronauts can go through to get to the moon or to a planet. 

We also need to look after our oceans and our sea life. All our corals are dying and the fish need a home for their babies. And there eggs. Indonesia has the most coral in the world, most of the coral is dying and fish are looking for a home.

I could really become the future president for the whole world because I don't do wars. I also don't like being racist like Donald trump. If he was a bit nice and cared for our planet. Everyone would've picked him but no he chose to be an unhappy person just like his sibling. 

You must wonder why Donald Trump likes to do that stuff? The answer is? Wait, did you really think I'd give you the answer. Nah actually I don't know why he's like that. That is why I picked Joe Biden because I think Donald Trump is mentally ill.

 On the weekend, On Saturday morning june 19th there was a tornado that ripped through Papatoe in South Auckland. Many houses were ripped apart and one person died.

in manukau in the container yard some of the containers fell and crushed one person.

Two were injured and one died while other people survived the disturbing tornado. Luckily a train didn't come past that scene because it would have caused a very big accident.  

Most of my family live on Papatoe I haven’t heard from them yet but I hope there house didn’t

Ripped apart. It’s very sad for the people that live in Papatoe because they had woken to a tornado that was so strong that it made containers fall. The police had come to the scene where the man was crushed. What a horrible morning.

The worst tornado in New zealand was back on 25 august 1948 in Hamilton in the north island.

 three people were killed and twelve people got injured. It also damaged 150 houses and 50 businesses.

 Stepping up

lesieli:Stepping up is when you are hurt or bullied by others, always talk to others and ask them for help. If you want you can ask them if they want to be your friend or if you want to play with them or even just stay with them to make sure they are ok 

Kingston: Stepping up can take a lot of responsibility like if your parents need you to do something or look after your siblings.Taking responsibility is a big thing to do that means your parents trust you with a lot of things.

Stepping up is a good thing because if you are not happy or sad and not looking after yourself you are not in a good environment. That is why you need to just take a step outside and just be happy with what you have and who you have next to you.

Stepping up you can step up by looking after yourself and like if you are getting bullied and someone is making you feel bad STEP UP FOR YOURSELF and prove that you are better than that and if you are feeling bad go outside and go have fun go do something good for yourself .

Year 8 camp.

Task description:

today we had to add key words for camp, the purpose of this camp was for us year 8's to come together, step up and have confidence in ourselves and also to have fun to do activities. It was really fun that we got to experience this type of camp. also my favorite activities was the go-carts because I just really liked speeding a lot and racing around the field.

Rotuman Language week.

  Noa’ia! That’s hello in the Rotuman language. My information report today will share with you some important facts about Rotuma.

Location: Rotuma ia located in the southern hemisphere.To the north of Rotuma is Tuvalu, the east is Samoa, south is Fiji.  West of Rotuma is Vanuatu.

Population: There are less than 2,000 people who live on Rotuma. More Rotumans living in Fiji. Maybe this is due to more opportunities for work and education.

Language: The languages that are spoken on Rotuma are english and rotuman. The Rotuman language is classified as endangered. There are only 15,000 speakers of the Rotuman language in the world.

The people who speak Rotuman can teach their kids the Rotuman language so their language doesn’t end up an unspoken language. So if they teach their kids they can teach their children. The Rotuman that know their language have to teach and teach so their language can stay alive and known.

Immersion assemblie.

On may 3 this morning we went into the hall and had our own immersion assembly. It was interesting. Team 1's item was a movie they are learning about the sun and where it goes when it’s going down at night. Team 2 did a story bot's theme of the planets. And how they work so that’s what they're learning about for term 2. Team 3 did an item on the stage and it was about the story rona and the moon. They are gonna be learning about navigating their way around the earth. Team 4 did a movie and it was about Guardians of the galaxy it was joyful but Mr Goodwin wasn't in it but it was still cool. That one was my favourite movie and also item and it was the best out of all of them from my point of view. Team 5 did the best item on the stage as well and they were travelling around the planets all of the planets even Jupiter mercury and Uranus it was really creative. They didn't do venus , saturn or neptune but it was my favourite.

Yesterday we went in the hall for assemblie. Todays theme for term 2 is watch this space. We are learning about Earth and beyond. 

We also learnt about how satellites work. Some satellites are used for tracking devices. To help people who are lost. Each team had to make an video/acting. 

My favourite team was team four. They did Gauardians of the galaxy for their team. I also learnt that groot say i am groot so many times.

Point England do these assemblies to explain to the children to they do this to give them information about the theme.

Hello to my blog viewers!

Hello to the people who view my blog. I have an interesting story about yesterday at the zoo i couldn't pulish this yesterday because it was getting dark and i didn't have enough time. So yesterday we took a trip to the Auckland zoo. My 2 siblings came and my 3 years old cousin and my aunty and my mum. So when we left the house we went to the store to get some snacks to take to the zoo. After the store we started the trip. The road was busy that time so we had to wait in traffic. It was not too long we only waited for 15 seconds then the motorway started going. So we past Motat and then we made it to the Auckland zoo. It was hard to look for parking because alot of people were there. After we had a place to park we got out off the car and headed towards the entrance. We bought our tickets and walked to the gate and we had got in the zoo. We also had a map that showed us where the animals are. On the map we went through the Africa safari track. On the map it had a red track that showed us the animals. The first animal we saw was the giraffes , zebras and ostrich's. It was a fascinating view from above. And then after those animals we came across the meerkats they were very cute and the staff feed them their food. I wanted to see the lions but they past away its was kinda sad because i haven't seen the lions sence year 3. Coming next was the water bucks. they were with the rhinos the rhino have really big hornes they use that to deffend themselves. Coming next was the pink flamingos and the asian elephants. The flamingos were playing with each other and a bunch of them were sitting down being lazy. And then i met the Asian elephants. they looked like baby elephants. Because i think the last time i saw a elephant at the zoo it was very big and huge. Next track was the blue track. That path leads to our animals in our country. The only thing i saw from that side was the penguins and seals. I did get to see much from that side because i accidentally skiped it and came to the green track. That is the South East Asia jungle track. there were only two animals that we could see. And it was the orangutans and the siamangs. The siamangs were so cute and they came up close to the window so i could see them closely. Then we took a break from walking everywhere. After the break we headed to the Australian bush track. They had all kinds of animals from Australia. The sad part is that there was no snakes. After that we went to the South American rainforest track. I saw the very huge Galapagos tortoise's. They look like big rocks most of them were sleeping. Come across was the Tarantulas. They look creepy!. we saw the squirrel monkey and the golden lion tamarins they were cute. They looked like cute baby teddy bears. then we saw the spider monkey. They were busy eating i saw 4 of them playing and jumping. And then they closed which was the sad part. I had an amazing adventure! if you haven't seen my trip out with my aunty check that out too. I think i'm also going to Motat maybe maybe not. Bye to my blog viewers!

 Hello to the people who are here to view my blog!

So yesterday my auntie came to my house. She just came to visit me and my siblings. She also came with my cousin Mele. Its was such an amazing day. So first she took as to Marthas backyard. If you dont know what that place is its actually a American store. You can buy food and supplies. I saw these mexican lollies so i got them it was called vero elotes. If you buy them you might not like it but you will get used to it once you keep on buying it. So that was the first place we went to. Then after that we went to my cousins house her name is josephine. She did come to our school but then she went college. She is now 18 close to 19 years of age. Anyways back to the story so we went to her house and stayed there for about 3 hours then it got dark. They planned to go out for the night so we had to get dropped of back home to my house. So we were just about to go then my cousin came and asked to get dropped of to work!. His names uoka it kinda sounds like walker. If you have watched cougar boys before he is in there. hes hardly in any videos because he takes care of his son. So we went to town to drop him off i was lucky because i got to drop him off because i didn't want to go home. After the drop off we went to Mc donald to get something for me and my cousin to eat. My auntie got me 2 burgers and 2 fries. Then i finally got dropped off home!. Finally got to rest. I had awesome day out with my auntie!

T1WK6 Mult/Div Maths

 

This week we are learning how to use materials to help you work out the problems and for this task we had to learn our 3 to 6 multiplication & Division and we had to solve word problems. We had extra Multiplication & Division problems to answer after answering the 3 to 6 times and division problems. I think that it was kind of easy because it was easy to answer the times and division problems because it had the same answers.

Trip Around the World.

 

Today after school we had digital noho. Team 5 had to take their chromebook the people with no chromebook got to take a loan book home. During the digital noho , each student will bring home their learning device for one speacial night. They will they will take part in a Google meet with their home class teacher ( just like in lockdown ) and take part in a fun activity. Thats what digital is. So i wrote about Australia because most of my mums family go there. Thanks for looking at my blog and have a lovely day.

Attitude Talk With Jana.

 Today Jana came to team 5 at Pt England school. She come for attitude talk and she sopke to the whole class. And she also let us play a game which you have to put one hand flat and the other hand with your finger pointing on the other persons hand. She also showed us animals and told us a story about her. It was very interesting because she was milking a cow and it was lifting up its tail. So she rolled under the other cow and the other cow had also lift up its tail. And what happened next was very funny she got pooped on and the whole class was lift with laughter. So the animals that she should us was colored animals their was a beaver , otter , dog and a lion. I really im a lion because I take control of my friends and i tell them what to do. But im also an otter because i can sometimes be a class clown.  Thank you Jana for coming into team 5 to teach us about attitude talk.
